When CAGNI was invited to participate in a fundraiser for the Art on the Edge program in early 2007,
we responded with a clay mural.
The actual event was part of a kids arts /hands on festival held in the Coeur D'Alene Shops mall.

Amy Vancho suggested the mural idea,
using kids' artwork as decorative elements.
A committee formed and decided to use a map of the waters of
 North Idaho as a theme and back drop for the mural.
A paper mockup of the layout was made.

Several days before the event, several members met to prepare slabs
for the background, and small balls of clay for the kids.

Volunteers worked with the children
both with ideas and attaching the finished work to the mural

  250 children added their artistic touches to the 350 pound mural.

Attending volunteers included;
Brad Sondahl, Pat Harns, Lori Hintz, Merrilynn Reeves, Roger and Jo Tinkey, Sherri Bullard, Cookie Conce, Jan Maiani , Laura Umthun, Ami Higbee, Amy Vancho and Leslie Bachner, and a few extra spouses and friends.  Photos mostly by Jan Maiani and Brad Sondahl
